Friends & Customers,

Oh behalf of myself and my brothers & sister, thank you all so much for the tremendous outpouring of kindness and support.

Please know that your well wishes, good thoughts and kind words truly helped us, and continues to help, as we deal with the passing of our father.

Dad loved the Dairy Bar and loved seeing friends, old and new, each season.

We look forward to seeing all of you in Spring 2014, as we head into our 30th Year.

It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our patriarch, Nathan "Nate" Rubin on October 10, 2013.

We are still in the process of making and finalizing arrangements.You may visit stgeorgefh.ca for visitation hours, once we have those determined.

We ask for your patience and good thoughts as we mourn our loved one.

We are officially closed for the season!

On behalf of Nate, Mary, Isaac & the entire Pete's staff (behind the counter & behind the scenes), we want to offer a HUGE thank you to our awesome customers. Without you we wouldn't be ending our 29th Year of serving the community.

And what a year it has been...

We entered the digital age this year with our website, facebook & twitter all with great success!

We welcomed the incoming Class of 2013 (SGES Kindergarten kids) and said good-bye to the outgoing Class of 2013 (FHS grads)

We opened Pete's Kitchen to serve all of your take-out needs and it was very well received. Thanks to all of the Pete's Kitchen customers!!

We made a MASSIVE donation of school supplies to the St George & Area Food Bank. It was greatly needed & would never have happened without the generosity of the staff & customers. The Food Bank still needs your help, so please donate, if you can!

We introduced The Colossal mega-sundae and had a couple of people try it out. They're ready and rarin' to take The Colossal Challenge again!

And that was just in Year 29. Who knows what we're coming up with for our 30th Anniversary Season!

Pete's will be closing, for the season, this week. We have yet to determine the exact date but we will notify people via Twitter, Facebook and here on the website.

We will stay open until our current supply of ice cream is gone or we hit a "critical mass" of ice creamthat is left. It remains a fluid situation.

To thank our customers, come in for a special offer. You can now get two (2) Banana Splits for just $10 (tax included)! This offer only lasts until the end of the season.

We also must announce that we're closing Pete's Kitchen on Friday, August 30th for the season. All good things, like this great summer we've had, must come to a close and so does Pete's Kitchen.

We've had a tremendous season serving our great customers our old favourites (Fish & Chips) and some amazing, new offerings (The Jaw Breaker Hotdog).

We offer a huge thanks to all of our old customers & a big thanks to our new customers who tried us out after a brief absence. We hope we've gained some new fans.

This does not affect Pete's Dairy Bar, which will remain open for the forseeable future.

One of the things we're very happy to do is to give back to the community. Now, we're asking for your assistance to help us help others.

With the school year fast approaching, the St George & Area Food Bank is in need of school supplies for children returning to (and starting) school who may not be able to afford all of the things needed for the school year.

On August 24th, we're asking for your help by bringing in new, unopened supplies (listed below). Bring them into Pete's where we will have a special area designated for donations.

As a token of our appreciation, we will give everyone who donates a chance to win 11.4L of Orange Sherbet! You'll receive a ballot for each item you donate!

Plus, the first 25 people to donate will receive a special gift.

If you're unable to buy school supplies and would still like to help, you're not ineligible. We will give 3 ballots to enter the giveaway with each $5 (or more) donation. Any amount you'd care to donate is appreciated, though.

Pete's Dairy Bar is happy to announce some special deals & products in conjunction with the 5th Annual Granite Town Wild Blueberry Festival!

To kick things off, we're participating in St George's Customer Appreciation Week by giving away a giant 11.4L tub of hard-serve Wild Blueberry Ice Cream!

To enter, just come into Pete's and fill out a ballot! That's it. This contest will run from August 12th to August 18th & no purchase is necessary to enter.

We're also adding the following items to our menu, but only for a (very) limited time:

We have some events to detail regarding the Granite Town Festival...

- Come into Pete's & buy a Banana Split. You'll get to break a balloon (with purchase only) and pay whatever amount is on the slip of paper inside the balloon. We'll have amount ranging from full price ($6.25) down to $0.00. Yes, you could win your Banana Split purchase! This offer runs Friday, July 19th through the 21st, or until we run out of balloons.

- At 6PM (until 8PM) on Saturday, July 20th, we're hosting an Ice Cream Tasting Contest. Up to 6 people, at once, will sit at our table and be blind folded. They will all taste ice cream, through 3 rounds of tasting. The contestant who guesses the most flavours correctly, through the 3 rounds, wins a cool (cold?) prize. (If there is a tie after 3 rounds, the tieing contestant will keep going until the tie is broken.)

- We're also offering, for a limited time, (starting July 19th) The Colossal Sundae. Into a giant bowl we add at least 15 scoops of ice cream, top that with soft-serve, whipped cream, multiple toppings and lots more. It's enough ice cream for 4, maybe 6 or 8 people. And it's just $25. We're taking it off the menu (unless it's super popular, then we'll put it on a "secret" menu) on July 21st.

We're excited to announce oou July Giveaway. This month, you have the chance to win an ice cream cake. We're talking over 5 pounds and 12" across and filled and covered with pertty much every topping and sauce we have to offer.

To win, take a picture of yourself in Pete's (with a purchase) and post it to Pete's Dairy Bar Facebook page. It's that easy! One winner will be selected at random in early August. You can even post a pic everytime you're in to have a cold treat!
